About Us

HRB was formed in 2002 by three partners: John Ha, Kent Williams and Darren Fuqua. Cumulatively, we have over 50 years of experience in Human Resources, and have previously worked together in both large corporate and small business environments in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

With varied backgrounds, the HRB team is capable of applying our expertise to a wide variety of industries including energy, service, manufacturing, education, and government among others. We have worked for clients large and small, privately held and public, start-ups and acquisitions.

John Ha
Senior Partner

John Ha received his MBA and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University. After graduation, John worked as a Pipeline Engineer for MAPCO, Inc. where he worked as a project manager on capital and maintenance projects along a major interstate pipeline system.  As a result of a merger,  he moved to The Williams Companies and worked in multiple areas including Engineering, Business Development, and Human Resources.

With over 14 years of solid technical and business experience, John has developed a strong background in project management. He has also developed a diverse background in Engineering, Business Development, Financial Analysis and Planning, and Human Resources.  

John`s keen analytical skills coupled with an instinctive awareness of the "big picture" provide our clients with creative solutions to complex business challenges.

Kent Williams
Senior Partner



Kent Williams received his BS in Education from Kansas State University. After graduation Kent worked as an HR Coordinator at Tenneco, Inc., and as an HR Representative for Sperry Univac.  He then spent 21 years at the Williams Companies in a variety of HR leadership positions.

Kent has over 30 years of progressive human resource management experience including Staffing and Workforce Planning, Benefits, Training and Organizational Development, Talent Management, Diversity Strategy, Employee Relations, HR Policy, and Employment Law and Compliance.  

Kent is active in several professional and community organizations including SHRM, TAHRA and The Tulsa Metro Chamber of Commerce.  He is a regular speaker at national conferences on HR-related topics.  His broad experience and working knowledge of how people impact an organization provides our clients with insight and solutions linked to strategic business challenges.

Darren Fuqua
Senior Partner

Darren Fuqua received his BS in Cellular Biology from the University of Kansas. After graduation Darren worked as an analytical chemist  for Merriam Merrill-Dow and Williams Pipeline where he quality assurance testing, performed research and managed laboratory operations.  Later he moved to Williams Communications and worked in several areas including software quality assurance, IT recruiting, and various disciplines of human resources. 

Darren has managed a variety of functions including Laboratory Operations, Software and Quality assurance, Technical Recruiting, Performance Management, and Human Resource Information Systems.  

As a consultant, Darren uses a fundamental understanding of business operations to successfully solve human resource and technology issues for clients.
